The designer, Tamara Mellon, describes them as "a thigh boot that pulls right up into a legging," but we think they could also be "a calf-high boot that turns into capris," or "a thigh-high boot that blends into leather shorts," depending how you look at it. Either way, it's one long line of leather—and people are surprisingly into it.
Since this morning, the $1,995 pants/boots have already sold out in 9 out of 10 sizes. Perhaps it proves that old business school adage true: If a product fills a niche, people will buy it...even if they don't quite know what to call it. For now, we're oscillating between "the fanciest riff on footie pajamas, ever," and "the lazy girl's solution to winter dressing." Just add legs, and go.
